The story of ex-Stinnett Police Chief Jason Collier has gained national exposure with FOX News, Nancy Grace, the Sun, the New York Post, and others featuring the unfolding of the allegations and an arrest by Texas Rangers.
On Monday, Collier was “called-out” publicly on social media by a fiancee that realized that Collier was married. Then the twist of “seemingly unbelievable” circumstances rolled like wildfire from there.
In just a few hours of fiancee Cecily Steinmetz posting details of her allegations against Collier (including Collier providing her with annulment papers from his wife and allegations of him traveling to her home while on duty as Chief of Police), another fiancee, and several other girlfriends surfaced.
Thousands upon thousands of people are following the story from across the world.
Facebook groups such as Jason Collier Netflix Series topped over 100,000 members on Thursday afternoon.
In a February 2020 interview with the Borger News-Herald, Collier boasted about his new position as Chief of Police at Stinnett.
“I’m excited to come into this role and be involved with the department, the city, and the community. I just really think we can have a positive impact on everybody,” he said.
Collier was arrested on Thursday afternoon by the Texas Rangers on charges of Tampering with a Governmental Record. He posted bond on Thursday evening. Collier also resigned his position as Stinnett Police Chief on Thursday.
